Financial support for estranged students | The University of Sunderland

We offer a ‘We Care’ scholarship of £2,000 for each year of study. So for a three year degree programme you can receive £6,000 which does not need to be paid back. Payments are made in four instalments of £500 during each academic year.

The ‘We Care’ scholarship is so beneficial for students who are Care Experienced or Estranged Students, like myself. As someone who has grown up not fitting into categories or requirements, this scheme allows students like myself to get the support we need during a stressful and busy time as a student. University of Sunderland have a great support network that are regularly contacting us, keeping in touch and showing that they really do care."
