Risedale Sports & Community College

Risedale Sports & Community College is a smaller than the average sized secondary school that enjoys an enviable and growing reputation within its community. Risedale recently completed Level 1 of Positive Allies, furthering its mission to remove all stigma and reinforcing its inclusive ethos.

"Risedale Sports & Community College is determined to ensure that all of its workforce and its pupils are treated with the same dignity as each other regardless of gender, orientation, faith, culture, background or disability and to do so in such a way as to remove all stigma through prejudice to any and all people.

"The school does not just ensure it meets its obligations through the Equality Act but goes beyond that. This has been its mission for the last few years and it will continue with its inclusive ethos in the years to come. Already renowned for the way it has tackled the perceived exclusion culture in schools meaning that no pupil is given up on, it is determined to ensure that those people affected by whatever stigma may exist are supported to lead them all to a successful future.

"Positive Allies is one way in which the school actively demonstrates its support for all and is proud to have achieved this award as a check that it is indeed doing all it can for the community."
