Research Institute for the Faculty of Computer Science

The Research Institute for the Faculty of Computer Science (FCS) focuses on developing and implementing a sustainable, supportive and inclusive research culture. Our research will have a direct impact on the curriculum of our undergraduate and taught postgraduate courses and will support us in delivering a first-class student experience. The Institute will make a significant contribution to all aspects of the University’s Research and Innovation Strategy.

The Research Institute in the Faculty of Computer Science embraces five research centres:

Pedagogic Practice in Computer Science
Cybersecurity and Digital forensics
Data Science
Human-Computer Interaction and User Experience Design
Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning

We also collaborate with local, national and international partners in industry, and academia to ensure that the impact of our research has local, national and international relevance.
