We know that you're going to have a great time on campus but we wanted to let you know that we are having a make-over.  We are investing heavily in new facilities so our students can enjoy all of the latest equipment and new study spaces. Whilst this is great news, it does mean that the Reg Vardy Building, Darwin Building, and Northern Centre of Photography will be closed during this Open Day. If you would like more information, please visit the Faculty stands.

Travel Bursary

We want to make our Open Day as accessible as possible for everyone, therefore we have created a travel bursary to ensure prospective students who want to attend, have the opportunity to do so.

This bursary will refund eligible travel expenses for prospective students who attend the University of Sunderland Open Day. Eligible travel expenses will cover standard coach or rail fare, or a mileage allowance for car travel.

The bursary is only available for the prospective student’s journey to the University’s Open Day on Saturday 17 August 2019, travelling directly to and from Sunderland (SR1 3SD) where they live more than 20 miles from the University.

The University of Sunderland Open Day Travel bursary award amount is dependent upon the distance travelled to the University and is calculated by the University of Sunderland. The amount awarded will be based on the shortest route from the prospective student’s home address to the University of Sunderland city campus (SR1 3SD) and will be calculated at the following rates;
