We’ve moved… to Wearside View!

Home / Student experience / Discover Sunderland blog / Education and Society / We've moved… to Wearside View!

Our Faculty of Education and Society students and academics have relocated into a new space at the Sir Tom Cowie Campus at St Peter's. Wearside View has been recently refurbished to make our teaching and learning experience even better.

The building and its site have a long history, having previously been home to students at Sunderland College, and even further back, the site of a privately-owned helipad! Now our Education and Social Sciences students will benefit from the building’s brilliant location on the river, modern classrooms and inspiring social space.

The new social space has been designed as the perfect spot for collaborative or independent learning with a mixture of learning spaces. To top it all off, the area has wonderful views of the riverside. For those warmer days, the outdoor balcony has plenty of seating where you can relax and take in your surroundings.

The Science Lab at Wearside View

We’ve revamped the classroom spaces as well, where you’ll find a mixture of classroom sizes, our Science Labs, and light and airy communal spaces to help aid your learning and development. Students here will also have access to their own coffee area, to grab a hot cuppa in between sessions.
