We all know one of the best ways to find out more about a university is to attend an open day. Universities will run several open days each year, usually large-scale events where you can get a feel for the campus and the course you want to study. But can you visit universities outside of open days?
At the University of Sunderland, we offer many different opportunities for you to visit us:
We offer a variety of exciting subject events throughout the year. From interactive taster sessions to guest lectures, we're always adding new events to our calendar for you to enjoy. Bookings for our subject events are available to both individuals and school groups. Check out our subject event listings to see what's coming up.
You might find that some open day dates don't coordinate with your diary. If this is the case for you, don't miss out on coming to campus – book a Campus Tour. We offer a range of dates and times and guests are more than welcome. A Student Ambassador or member of our friendly Student Recruitment team will guide you around campus and tell you more about Sunderland. If you'd like to speak to your programme leader or our student support services as part of your tour, let us know. Many people find a Campus Tour a good way to arrange an appointment with our Disability Support Team or Student Financial Guidance. Whatever your needs, we can tailor your tour to suit you.
If you’re in Year 12 or 13 – or teach students in these year groups – you might be interested in our talks and workshops. We cover general higher education topics such as finance and scholarships and how to apply, as well as subject sessions. We deliver a range of practical subject workshops but can also work with you to develop a session that fits your class. To discuss how we can support your school, get in touch with us at firstname.lastname@example.org.

See you soon!
Whichever way you decide to visit us, we’ll always offer you a warm welcome and a great experience. Be sure to book your place at your chosen event soon, and we’ll see you then!
