Develop your creative writing and reading skills using the works of the author of Alice in Wonderland, Lewis Carroll.
This short course will help you to develop your creative writing and reading skills using the works of Lewis Carroll, author of Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass. The course has been developed to allow you to explore your creativity, to aid self-discovery, and highlight the benefits of reading and writing for wellbeing.
During the course, you will learn how to analyse these books and their connection to the City of Sunderland, along with a range of other books, and use them as inspiration for writing new literature with guidance from highly experienced academic staff from the University. Spectral Visions Press, our innovative publishing house at the University, will also support learners with publishing their work.
This course will run every Tuesday and Thursday from 4 April to 20 April 2023, from 1pm until 3pm. Sessions will take place at the Betsy Jenny Counselling and Wellbeing Café in Sunderland. There will also be additional online study sessions for you to attend in advance of every face-to-face session.
