Overview

This module is aimed at registered health care professionals, mainly those working within the mental health care sector.

It will be delivered over a period of six months, with workshops delivered between one and three days, with each session lasting a minimum of three hours and a maximum of six. 

The individual sessions will be delivered by specialist practitioners and experts.

Course structure

You will be taught through seminars/workshops. Assessment will be through an individual presentation.

  • Understanding self-harm and suicidal thoughts

  • Introduction to Dialectical Behavioural Therapy
  • Working with paranoia and unusual beliefs
  • Improving relationships and communication styles
  • Working with Personality Disorder in Clinical Practice
  • Resilience in practice and making the most of clinical supervision
  • We’ve got thousands of relevant books and e-books, with many more titles available through the inter-library loan service. We also subscribe to a comprehensive range of print and electronic journals so you can access the most reliable and up-to- date academic and industry articles. There are nearly 9,000 journal titles, mostly in electronic format.

Entry requirements

This programme is suitable for registered health care professionals who often work with those who experience chronic trauma and want to understand more about it.

Fees and finance

The fee for this course is £700. Funded places are available through Health Education England and through widening participation for those not working in the NHS, subject to conditions.
