Case Study

Melissa Bailey

After graduating with a first class honours in Illustration and Design, Melissa Bailey is now a freelance illustrator with high profile clients including Sunday Times Style magazine, Harper's Bazaar (Australia) and Browns (clothes shop).

The fact that life drawing was part of the course really appealed to me. I didn’t attend an open day – I just turned up at the Design Centre one day and was given a tour and really liked what they had to offer.

The tutors are just like friends who are very approachable and helpful. I also liked being part of a community of like-minded people – we still meet weekly to draw together.

My advice to students is to do as much creative work as you can and be the best you can. Always push yourself and you will find work.”
