The friendly nature of the staff and students here at the University of Sunderland is amazing. From the moment I applied I had supportive emails from the Disability Support Team and helpful contact with the person dealing with my application.

What I enjoy most about the University and my course is meeting new people, the simulation facilities, and gaining new knowledge from healthcare professionals.

The staff are supportive, friendly and take time to get to know you as an individual rather than just another student. I can’t fault my experience so far, I’ve met a fantastic range of people, from the lecturers and my fellow students to the Vice-Chancellor and many others in the University. They offer support and advice and willingly share their knowledge.

I’ve received so much support, including financial, wellbeing and disability support. They’ve all been extremely helpful; the Student Financial Guidance team helped me with a delay in receiving my student loan. They also spoke to Student Finance England (SFE) and helped with my disability support payments. The Disability Support Team helped me with the assessment for an official diagnosis of dyslexia and dyspraxia, and the Wellbeing Team supported me through a difficult family bereavement.

Studying at the University of Sunderland has really helped me believe in myself, and that I can achieve my life and career goals."
