I had the opportunity to go to three North-East universities to study social work. As a result of the welcome I received from Sunderland on their interview day, I chose to attend the University of Sunderland.
Initially I wasn't sure if I had made the correct choice as I was anxious that I could not complete a professional degree. However, I now believe choosing Sunderland was the best decision I have ever made. The course is both informative and challenging yet no student is ever left to struggle. All lecturers know each student by their first name and are always available for support and advice. My three placements have allowed me to consolidate lecture knowledge and theories and put these into practice and push myself within social work settings."
