The employability opportunities and support were definitely the main reason why I chose the University of Sunderland. The University isn’t just focused on what grades students graduate with, they really do care about what students are doing post-graduation, whether this is full-time employment or further study.
I am particularly proud of my personal development. I left sixth form as a very shy individual with less than average grades. The University of Sunderland has helped me develop as an academic and improve my confidence to the point where I can now successfully deliver lectures to a large number of students.
I achieved the highest grade in the third-year exam and graduated with an overall First in undergraduate study. Regarding my postgraduate achievements, I achieved a distinction in every single assignment in my master’s degree, resulting in an overall distinction.
Now, my job role at the University is essentially 50% lecturing and 50% PhD, therefore I will become Dr Nelson in four years’ time - what an achievement! The University is not just a fantastic place to study, but also to work. Be prepared for the most rewarding journey of your life. The experience of studying at the University of Sunderland is life-changing.”
