Open Days

Join us at our next Open Day where you can explore the University's fantastic campus, meet current students and staff, and learn more about your chosen course.

Campus tours

If you can't make one of our Open Days, why not sign up for a campus tour? Our tours are delivered by Student Ambassadors or our home student recruitment team who love showing prospective students around campus. You'll see the libraries, teaching spaces, social areas, and course-specific facilities tailored to your subject of interest. You can even bring guests along.

View our AccessAble accessibility guides for support with planning your journey to visit the University.

Future of Filmmaking Masterclass

Wednesday 1 May, 5 6pm

Online

Maybe not so much anymore... Artificial Intelligence (AI) and virtual production techniques could reduce costs and free the filmmakers of the future from physical sets and expensive location work.

Or, will filmmakers need to create bolder narratives and create even larger live-action stunts to attract audiences familiar with digital worlds and synthetic media?

Join renowned AI expert, former TV executive, and University of Sunderland Professor of Media Innovation Alex Connock for a discussion about the next revolution in film-making. With our lecturers, he will explore how new technologies can boost your creativity as well as the potential dangers, plus answer your burning questions.

A Celebration of Pride Month: CineClub

Wednesday 5 June, 3pm – 6pm

Sir Tom Cowie Campus at St Peter's

CineClub is a big part of university life for students studying Film and Media courses. It started over 25 years ago and has evolved over the years to become an open space to watch and discuss films that reflect different genres and themes for the love of film. CineClub is a democratic club where any member staff or student can suggest and present a film.

To celebrate Pride month we are inviting our applicants for BA (Hons) Film and Media and BA (Hons) Media, Culture and Communication to take part in an exclusive Pride month CineClub.
