What is Clearing and who is it for?

Clearing is for:

  • Anyone who has not yet applied for university but wants to enrol on a course in September
  • Anyone who hasn’t achieved the grades required and who hasn’t been accepted for their first (firm) or second (insurance) choice university
  • Anyone who has not yet received any offers for a place at a university

If you have achieved better grades than you expected and want to apply for another course and/or university, you can change your choice through Adjustment.

Covid-19 Guidance - Your Student Experience

Our priority is to deliver an excellent learning experience on our campuses in Sunderland, at the same time as keeping you safe and well. We plan to use traditional campus-based methods, supported by our highly effective online provision and we will continue to follow government guidelines to inform our approach to your wellbeing whilst you are here.

Each course at the University has slightly different requirements so we will provide further details to applicants directly.

Many of our courses offer cross-faculty collaborative working and interprofessional learning, as well as placement opportunities, reflecting real-world work. We also offer flexible learning opportunities across many of our courses, enabling you to balance your university studies with your personal life. Integrated Foundation Year degrees
