Clearing opens on 2 July 2026.

Until then, we're here to help you figure out your next steps.

Sign up and get dedicated support, now and during Clearing. When you register, you’ll receive:

  • One-to-one support from a member of our Clearing Helpline Team. They'll be with you at every stage of the Clearing process and will give you advice tailored to your situation
  • A printed guide designed to clear the noise, delivered to your door (UK residents only)
  • Clear guidance on the courses you can study and your steps to join us.

When Clearing opens on 2 July, you can apply to us by calling 0191 515 3000. You can also apply online using our Clearing self-apply form.

What is Clearing?

You can apply through Clearing if:

  • You haven’t applied for university yet, but want to start a course in September
  • You haven’t previously considered studying with us, but want to join us in September
  • You’ve applied for university but not met the conditions of your firm or insurance choice
  • You’ve changed your mind about the offer you’re holding at another university or college and want to study with us instead
  • You’ve changed your mind about the offer you’re holding with us and want to study a different course.

When you sign up for support, we’ll send you a Clearing guide in the post. There's no distractions or gimmicks, just straightforward advice on applying through Clearing.

Visit us

We're offering a range of opportunities for you to join us on campus during the Clearing period:

Open Day

Book your place at our next Open Day on Saturday 15 August, 10am-2pm.

Clearing drop-in

If you need in-person support with your Clearing application, drop-in to see us on Thursday 13 August. There's no need to book in advance, just turn up at The Gateway Building at City Campus between 10am-2pm.

Campus tours

Can’t make an open day? Book a campus tour to explore our general facilities, study spaces, social areas, and the library.

Key dates

  • 2 July 2026: Clearing opens
  • 4 August 2026: SQA results day
  • 13 August 2026: A Level and BTEC results day
  • 20 August 2026: GCSE results day
  • 19 October 2026: Final date to add 2026 entry Clearing choices.
