This form is for those who want to request personal data held about them by the University of Sunderland. This is under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Make a Subject Access RequestScope of searches
The University will carry out searches that are reasonable and in proportion with the nature of the request. This is in line with recent legislative changes under the Data (Use and Access) Act. We no longer undertake exhaustive searches across all systems where doing so would be disproportionate or involve unreasonable effort.
This means we'll focus our searches on systems and locations where we're most likely to find relevant personal data. We'll take into account the scope of the request and the resources needed to find and retrieve the information.
Where appropriate, we may contact you to clarify or refine your request. This would be to help us identify the information you've requested in a more efficient way and ensure our response is accurate and timely.
