Join us for a day of exciting and engaging workshops. These will give your students a great insight into what its like to study Business. We'll cover a range of different topics such as marketing, sustainability and human resource management.
Profit vs Planet: Can Cheap Fashion Be Responsible?
In this fast-paced business taster session, students become supply chain managers for a fashion brand. They'll be selling £1 T-shirts and working in teams. They must make decisions about materials, labour, shipping and pricing.
Then, students will respond to real-world disruptions. These include carbon taxes, supply delays, climate risks and ethical sourcing challenges. Students will get a practical feel for:
- How business decisions are made
- How sustainability affects profit and reputation
- Why studying business at university connects directly to real-world issues.
The Hiring Game
Step into the role of a hiring team and take on a fast-paced recruitment challenge. In this interactive HR taster session, students will review real-style job descriptions. They'll compare candidate CVs and score applicants to decide who should be shortlisted for interview. Along the way, they will explore:
- How businesses make recruitment decisions
- How bias can affect judgement
- Why choosing the right person matters.
Swifties, Stans and Strategy
What do Taylor Swift, Disney and online stan culture have in common? They all show how powerful marketing can turn audiences into loyal communities. In this interactive taster session, students will study:
- Easter eggs
- Limited drops
- Emotional storytelling
- Fan theories
- Fan-led promotion
They'll learn how artists and brands build hype, loyalty and long-term connection through these methods. By the end, they will see fandom not just as something they take part in, but as something marketers can understand, shape and build.
