Businesses and organisations from around the region came together to celebrate the success of their apprentices at the University of Sunderland.

The University held its third annual Apprenticeship Awards (12 February), which recognises the exceptional achievements of apprentices, mentors, tutors, and employers shaping the future of their industries.

Sarah Beck, Academic Director of Apprenticeships at the University, said: “The awards ceremony was a great opportunity to celebrate the success of our apprentices and the way they apply their learning in real-world situations in the workplace.

“We also recognised the contribution of employers, workplace mentors, academic and professional services staff who support learners on a daily basis – it really does take teamwork for apprenticeships to be successful.
