Thousands of runners took to Sunderland’s streets for the annual City Runs at the weekend (May 17) to raise money for their chosen charities.
Sunderland City Runs saw over 5,000 people taking part across the Half Marathon, 10K and the new 5K.
This year marks the 15th anniversary of the first Sunderland City 10K, which in 2011 had 1,500 people take part.
Members of staff, students, graduates and friends and advocates of the University of Sunderland ran a combined distance of around 700 miles to raise money for the University's Futures Fund, which provides financial support for students and graduates to develop their careers and aspirations.
You can still donate to the Futures Fund here.(opens in new tab)
