University of Sunderland rises to third place for course quality in Uni Compare rankings

The University of Sunderland is celebrating jumping 31 positions to third position in the Uni Compare 2027 Rankings for course quality.

Additionally, the University, has made one of its biggest jumps this year for employability, climbing 51 places year-on-year.

Sunderland has also been ranked 45th place overall in Uni Compare’s top 100 universities, a rise of 32 places.

Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) at the University of Sunderland, Professor Helen Driscoll, said: “Our performance in the Uni Compare rankings is a significant achievement for the University and a strong endorsement of the quality of education we provide.

“Our rise in course quality, employability and overall position reflects our continued focus on delivering an exceptional student experience, alongside our commitment to preparing graduates for successful futures from day one.

“These results are a testament to the dedication and hard work of our staff and the ambition and talent of our students.”

It comes as the University climbs 15 places to 68th in the UK in the Complete University Guide 2027, marking a notable rise on last year’s position of 83rd.

The University is also celebrating achieving ‘Five-Star Overall’ status in the latest QS Star rankings in Teaching, Employability, Facilities, Good Governance, Environmental Impact, Global Engagement, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and Business Management Studies.
