About Alison Diamond
I am an artist/printmaker/freelancer working primarily with the figure. I hold a master's in Printmaking and BA in Fine Art. My role at the University has been to share my printmaking expertise and also my love of mark-making as a means of expression. Drawing is my passion, I love to observe the everyday and to trap it within some form of printmaking.
Externally, as a freelance artist, I exhibit my paintings, drawings, and prints both nationally and internationally. I am a member of Manchester Academy Fine Art, a society founded by LS Lowry.
I also work with a wide variety of community groups as Artist in Residence or to commission running workshops. This includes working with nine Sunderland-based nursery schools, as part of the School Engagement programme (Together for Children Sunderland), to produce banners prior to The Tall Ships 2018 visit.
I am a member of the steering group, responsible for founding the Hilltop Community Projects team, based in Tow Law, Durham.
