About Amy Richardson
I'm a Senior Lecturer on the MSc Advanced Clinical Practitioner apprenticeship.
My background is in biomedical science, graduating with a BSc (Hons) from Durham University and going on to complete my MSc Advanced Clinical Practice at Teesside University. I was a registered biomedical scientist with the HCPC before joining the University and worked for 11 years in the microbiology department of a busy NHS laboratory. During this time, I progressed from Medical Laboratory Assistant to Senior Biomedical Scientist, and following completion of my MSc, took on additional clinically led responsibilities, alongside maintaining a high level of technical responsibility within the laboratory.
My passions are training, advancing practice, and microbiology, and I'm keen to pass on this passion for learning and improving to students.
Teaching and supervision
