About Andrea Brown
I have enjoyed a diverse work portfolio spanning marketing, training and education, and began my teaching career as an ESOL tutor in Italy before completing a PGCE (PCET) at the University of Sunderland. I later worked as a Lecturer and Curriculum Manager in a large Further Education college, with responsibility for provision across FE, HE and professional qualifications.
I am an experienced external examiner and external quality assurer for vocational, professional and university qualifications. I hold an MSc in Human Resource Management (Distinction), with research interests in mental health and wellbeing in the workplace and Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). I am part of a university sustainable development working group and serve as Equity, Diversity and Inclusion champion for the FES team.
I remain passionate about teaching and the life-changing opportunities education can provide.
