About Dr Anna-Marie Marshall

My main interests are in health inequalities, tobacco control, smoking cessation, e-cigarette use, and mental health. I currently work in the Helen McArdle Nursing and Care Institute as a Research Fellow. My role involves working as an Embedded Public Health Researcher with Sunderland City Council.

After completing my PhD in 2018, I worked as a Research Fellow in Public Health at the University of York. My most recent work includes investigating the use of e-cigarettes for smoking cessation in people who have a mental illness in the UK, tobacco control policy evaluation work for the World Health Organization in low and middle-income countries, research on treatment for smoking cessation in Pakistan and Bangladesh and community-based smoke-free-homes research in Bangladesh.
