Brett Lambert

Over recent years, I have taught the Psychosocial Interventions Foundation course, MSc CBT for Psychosis, and more recently, the Public Mental Health module. Subjects include assessment and formulation, clinical interventions, activity and health, and relapse prevention.

More recently, I have taught public health, adult nursing, and paramedic science.

I have experience of carrying out research, service evaluation, and clinical audits and recently carried out a qualitative research project using case study methodology to explore the views of NHS staff on the outcomes of a local pilot initiative in a GP surgery.

Clinical

I have predominantly worked in mental health services as an occupational therapist (acute in-patients, prison mental health, and community mental health) and as a generic mental health worker (prison mental health and community mental health). Alongside my occupational therapy practice, I have a clinical interest and additional training in psychosocial interventions for psychosis.

Leadership

I have developed my leadership skills through formal training, self-directed learning, feedback, coaching, and through various leadership roles. I have applied these skills in both clinical and managerial positions. I am particularly interested in how leadership models and approaches from other disciplines can be adapted and applied in healthcare environments.

Project Management

I have three years of experience leading specific project work streams across a large NHS Trust that required leadership and engagement across traditional organisational and care boundaries. I believe that interpersonal skills are a particular strength and are crucial to partnership working.
