Caroline Snaith

I am a Lecturer in International Education and hugely enjoy supporting trainee teachers and postgraduate students to develop and shape their own success.

Before joining the University, I was a secondary school teacher for sixteen years holding academic and pastoral roles together with mentoring PGCE students.

In preparation for moving into Higher Education, I worked with the Education Development Trust running workshops and training for Early Career Teachers across the northeast. I developed curriculum content for Oak National Academy and was an examiner with AQA.

Here in the School of Education, I now support trainee teachers on their journey through the PGCE and also practising teachers working towards Qualified Teacher Status via our assessment only route (AOR to QTS).

I am an accredited coach with the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC) and worked in this capacity largely with senior leaders in multi-academy trusts across the UK as well as with individuals privately. I bring this coaching style into my roles at the university when supporting students and trainee teachers and in partnering with colleagues volunteering in the Coaching Network. It is also a great privilege to have in depth discussions about mentoring and coaching with students within their MA Education module studies.
