Areas of expertise
Clinical
I started my career as a physiotherapist in a large acute hospital trust and gained experience working in intensive/high dependency and post-operative patient rehabilitation, medical rehabilitation, acute paediatric rehabilitation, stroke rehabilitation, rheumatology, and musculoskeletal rehabilitation.
I have predominantly worked in various musculoskeletal services as a physiotherapist including; orthopaedics, trauma clinic, general practice, acute hospitals, hydrotherapy, musculoskeletal gym, and pain management. I have led and developed a pain management physiotherapy service in a clinical specialist capacity.
I also have experience working in the private sector and supported sports clubs as a physiotherapist at an amateur level.
Leadership
I have significant experience leading, developing, and providing physiotherapy services across a large NHS Trust and within a larger multidisciplinary team. This has provided valuable leadership experience and insight into the benefits of inter-professional approaches and collaborative working.
I have developed my leadership skills through formal training, self-directed learning, feedback, and through the leadership roles I have held. I have applied these skills in both clinical and leadership positions.
