Chris Rabban

As a Chartered Physiotherapist, I specialised in musculoskeletal (MSK) physiotherapy and spent most of my clinical career working within a large acute NHS Foundation Trust. I have also gained experience working in professional sport and private practice.

Alongside my teaching, I coordinate clinical placements for the BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy programme. I work closely with NHS and private healthcare providers to help students gain a broad and varied range of clinical experiences.

I particularly enjoy helping students connect their theoretical knowledge with practical skills and develop the confidence to apply these in clinical practice.

More recently, I have developed a simulation week to help prepare students for their first clinical placement. The week provides students with opportunities to practise their clinical skills, communication and decision-making in realistic scenarios, helping to bridge the gap between university-based learning and clinical practice. I am currently evaluating the initiative to explore its impact on students' experiences and preparedness for placement.
