Dr David Stellon

As a Senior Lecturer in Anatomy, my role is to facilitate the learning of clinical anatomy among medical students, in addition to advancing research in the field of medicine and medical education.

I obtained my PhD in Medical Studies from the Wicking Dementia Research and Education Centre at the University of Tasmania, where I investigated toxicity models using human induced pluripotent stem cells and fluorescent biosensors. Prior to this, I gained my MSc in Human Anatomy (Distinction) at the University of Edinburgh and BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Science (First Class) at the University of Lincoln. I was also the recipient of the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS) President's Prize.

Before working at the University of Sunderland, I was an Associate Lecturer in Anatomy at the University of Lincoln Medical School and a Casual Academic at the Wicking Dementia Research and Education Centre.
