About Dr Eddie Hai
I am a Hong Konger and have been practicing Occupational Therapy for more than 15 years before switching to teaching. I am interested in the area of neurological rehabilitation and the application of assistive technology. My doctoral thesis was about the use of Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS) in promoting upper limb functional recovery in chronic stroke patients.
Teaching and supervision
Before the University of Sunderland, I taught Occupational Therapy at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University for 10 years. The major areas I taught were clinical application of occupational therapy to medical and neurological specialties, assistive technology, and geriatric rehabilitation.
I started my new role as a Lecturer and Clinical Link Tutor for Occupational Therapy at the University of Sunderland in 2023.
Interests
I am interested in quantitative clinical trials, particularly in the area of stroke rehabilitation. I am also developing my interest in learning and teaching research.
