About Helen Stainsby
I am registered with the Nursing Midwifery Council (NMC) as an adult nurse and teacher. I qualified in 1999 and began my career in critical care, before moving to ophthalmology where I worked as a staff nurse and then clinical educator. I have also worked on behalf of NHS England as a practice placement facilitator and clinical lead across the North East and North Cumbria.
I have an interest in quality improvement and leadership, and I have always enjoyed supporting student nurses through every stage in my career. I joined the University of Sunderland as a lecturer and clinical link tutor, and I am very fortunate to be able to support students on their path to being registered nurses.

I am a Lecturer for BSc (Hons) Adult Nursing Practice. I teach across a variety of modules and years, but I am mainly based in year three. I am also a Clinical Link Tutor for those students placed in County Durham and Darlington, and North Tees and Hartlepool Foundation Trusts.
