About Dr Kevin F Handley
I started teaching in 2019. I spent the previous 10 years at Sunderland College delivering BSc (Hons) Extended BioPharmaceutical Science for the University of Sunderland.
I graduated from the University of Huddersfield with a degree in Applied Chemistry. My PhD was in Molecular Toxicology from the University of Newcastle, investigating the mechanism of toxicity of nitrobenzenes. I remained there to do postdoctoral research on the synthesis of isotopically-labelled metabolites of butadiene.
I have worked in industry for both ICI Chemicals and Polymers and Zeneca Central Toxicology. I have a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) from the University of Northumbria, over 25 years of teaching experience, and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
