About Professor Laura Stroud
I'm the Pro Vice-Chancellor and the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences and Wellbeing. I have expertise in population health and wellbeing, from community activism in the voluntary sector to education and research, policy and strategy.
Teaching and supervision
My main interest is in the supervision of Specialty Registrars in Public Health, bridging academic and workplace context.
Research
I've led a number of projects in education, including curriculum design. I also have a research interest in health professions education and have previously led a whole system quality improvement initiative. See my ORCiD profile(opens in new tab).

I'm an Associate Non-Executive board member of the Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust (March 2024 to date), for which I'm Chair of the Quality Assurance Committee and Board Safety Champion for Maternity Services.
I previously served as the University of Leeds appointed Non-Executive to Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (October 2017–2020) and subsequently to Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust (November 2020–September 2023). In both organisations, I chaired the Quality Committee.
