About Dr Leah Williams
I graduated with Distinction from Newcastle University in 2019 with an MBBS (Hons). After completing foundation training in the Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, I started work as a Clinical Teaching Fellow at Sunderland Royal Hospital - teaching the first cohort of the University of Sunderland School of Medicine.
While working as a Clinical Teaching Fellow, I studied towards a master's in Medical Education and graduated with Distinction in 2023. Upon completion of my master's, I transitioned into a permanent academic position within the Assessment Team as a Senior Lecturer for the MBChB programme at the School of Medicine. Alongside this post, I contributed to the MMedEd programme delivering teaching sessions, marking assignment submissions, and supervising MMedEd students.
I left the Assessment Team role in April 2026, but continue to work with the MMedEd team alongside Clinical Radiology training in the North East.
