About Dr Okeoma John-Paul Okeke
I am a Senior Lecturer in Management (Strategy and Operations) and teach Research Methods. I have over eight years of teaching and working as an academic in UK higher education and internationally across Transnational Education Partnerships (TNE). I am currently the Global partnership Lead (MDIS Dushanbe(opens in new tab)), Tajikistan. In this role, I bring a broad range of experiences drawn from UK higher education, British Transnational Education Partnerships internationally, and my industry practice.
My previous roles in institutional leadership include Programme Manager of the Global MBA at De Montfort University Kazakhstan (DMUK), Programme Manager for the Doctorate in Business Management (DBA), and BA Business Management at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD) with successful outcomes.
I have a BSc in Business Management, an MA in Management, and a Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) Professional Certificate in Marketing and Digital Marketing. My doctoral research was on Human Resource Management with a focus on Knowledge Management (KM). I am also a qualified teacher having obtained the Award in Learning and Teaching in HE (ALTHE) and the PG Certificate in Higher Education (PGCert HE) both accredited by the Higher Education Academy (HEA). I am a Certified Management and Business Educator (CMBE), a Senior Fellow (SFHEA) of the Advance Higher Education and an Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) Endorsed Coach.
I have years of experience supporting doctoral students from start to finish with over 11 completions across different research interests in the capacity of Director of Studies as well as a Supervisor. With grounded experiences across different institutions as a Chair, of internal and external Doctoral examinations, I have examined over 30 students in different capacities with positive and constructive feedback.

I have made significant contributions as a member of committees that include the Research Ethics Review Committee, Research Degrees Committee, Academic Standards Committee, Doctoral College Board, The Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) Review (Academic Staff) Panel, Doctoral Staff Student Committee Lead, Learning and Teaching Enhancement Strategy.
I am an External Examiner at the University of Coventry (PgC/PgD/MA Leadership in the Road Sector and MA Management) and the University of Bedfordshire (BSc- Human Resource Management pathways and with Law assessments). These roles ensure that I am up to date with training, conversations on assessments, and reporting on academic standards, quality, and consistency of teaching compared to QAA quality code. This in turn supports my professional practice within and beyond academia.

Areas of expertise
My research explores knowledge systems, sustainability, and labour market transformation, focusing on how organisations use digital technologies to drive performance. My work also examines migration, workforce integration, and transnational education, adopting an interdisciplinary, applied approach to align organisational practices, innovation, and inclusive economic development.
