About Terri White
I am a full-time Nursing Online Instructor for Sunderland Online. I am the first point of contact for students with academic queries, and I serve as a ‘critical friend’ to guide them through their studies in both MSc Nursing(opens in new tab) and BS (Hons) Nursing Top-Up(opens in new tab).
I completed a BSc degree in Statistics and Psychology at Newcastle University. I briefly worked as a Junior Design Engineer before having a career break to bring up my two sons. I volunteered at an SLD school for a year and realised I wanted to go into teaching, so I completed a BA in Maths Education at University of Sunderland. I worked as a maths teacher in a secondary school for 18 years, then decided to take a change in direction. I volunteered, teaching functional maths to adults with learning disabilities, and did some supply work, before becoming a PCPI (Patient, Carer, Public Involvement) at the University of Sunderland. I taught numeracy on the Integrated Foundation Year and the Non-Medical Prescribing course.
I completed my master's in Education in 2023, so I can really relate to what students are going through.
