About Dr Vasiliki Kontou
As a Fellow of the Advance Higher Education and an associate member of a number of national associations, I've developed a wealth of expertise in a variety of business and education contexts, with extensive links and networks fostering positive engagements across the sector.
I'm the founder of a national employment business company specialising in educational support services across the spectrum of academia with a global perspective. I'm also an external academic with AIEOU, collaborating with a global pool of expert academics on the spectrum of AI in education at Oxford University. My rich experience in collaborating, consulting, and applying policy to practice across a variety of business settings has fostered my passion in the marketisation of businesses and application of strategy for international and global impact.
My research interests lie in the business structure of educational settings, privatised education, and the marketisation of private tuition.
I've been invited as a keynote speaker at leading educational institution conferences and festivals and have presented my doctoral research in national stakeholder forums.
My passion for teaching and developing an impactful student learning experience is key in my role as a lecturer.

I'm currently a TNE and on-campus module leader for MGT103, lecturer on the MGTM32 module Management in Practice, as well as a PhD doctoral supervisor.

Research
My doctoral research focuses on the topic of the impact of private tuition in the north-east. As an external academic collaborator with AIEOU, AI in Education at Oxford University, I'd be interested in fostering further links to promote a research-informed and ethical approach to AI in education. I'm interested in research in areas of education and AI, marketisation, business contexts, employment law and leadership.
