Course summary

This course offers the choice of studying at Level 6 or 7, depending on your experience.

Teaching takes place in our multi-million pound John Dawson Sciences Complex. This features a range of contemporary facilities including:

  • A brand new training suite for health and pharmaceutical professionals
  • Multidisciplinary science labs
  • New facilities for proteomics, drug discovery, pharmacy, and health sciences.

When you complete the course, you'll receive a certificate to show you've gained 20 credits. You may be able to transfer these credits to a diploma or degree.

  • Long-acting reversible contraceptives and enabling choice

How you'll learn

Our clinical sciences lecturers deliver this course. You'll also learn from a specialist in contraceptive and sexual health.

The course runs across five full days over three months. We use a variety of teaching and learning methods, including interactive workshops. You'll focus on a specific topic which you can then apply to clinical practice.

Assessment methods include:

  • An essay consisting of two reflective case logs
  • An Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE). This offers a simulated patient experience in a range of relevant consultations.
