Course summary

  • Standards of Continuing Professional Development.

You'll gain an understanding of:

  • Safeguarding

  • Hearing aid and assistive device technologies.

You'll also explore quality assurance and improvement process. This relates to independent practice in hearing aid audiology.

We deliver this course online, but you'll join us at City Campus for an in-person exam at the end.

What you'll study

Certificate of Proficiency in Hearing Aid Dispensing (10 credits)

This is a single core module course of 10 credits at Level 5. It meets the registration requirements for the HCPC for qualified audiologists. You'll learn the principles and legislation relating to the role of hearing aid dispenser in private practice.

How you'll learn

Our clinical academic staff teach this course. It's delivered online over six weeks through our Virtual Learning Environment. Each week involves two hours of pre-recorded lectures. This is alongside accessing directed self-study materials.

There'll also be six hours of live online group seminars. These include problem-based case studies. You'll also discuss the learning outcomes of the module in depth.

Formative assessments include case studies, group discussions, and multi-choice quizzes. You'll attend one in-person exam at City Campus at the end of the course. This will assess all learning outcomes.
