This masterclass provides you with the opportunity to develop knowledge and understanding of project management approaches and apply project management principles and practices to organisations.

It's aimed at individuals from private, public, and third-sector organisations, business owners, managers, or people from within organisations who are interested in developing their understanding of project management and wish to increase their project management effectiveness.

What you'll study

This masterclass will cover:

  • The role of good communication
  • Why do we need this project?
  • How do we build the specification? SQCDP, mind map, brainstorm, wants, musts
  • Assessing the risks
  • Project scope
  • Project variables: time, cost, quality, scope, risk
  • Establishing the team. What makes the right team? The significance of experience, expertise, operators, Wild Cards, customers
  • Team exercise
  • Timing plan: Gantt chart process, critical path analysis, criteria analysis
  • Effective meetings: timing, attendance, milestones
  • Review and reflection.

How you'll learn

This masterclass will be interactive, requiring the practical application of project management techniques to build skills and enhance effectiveness. Content will be focused on your requirements, covering a range of topics.

There is no formal accreditation or assessment, but you'll be asked to reflect on your experience, providing evidence of the impact of the course, with a consideration of how this might inform your future development.

The masterclass is normally delivered at St Peter's Campus, but for closed and bespoke cohorts, the course can be delivered at your workplace.
