Course summary

The sessions will be based around our Five Foundation Concepts, which link directly to the Teachers’ Standards. Live, online sessions will allow staff to engage with students and provide interesting insights into teaching and share their passion.

What you'll study

The course will give you an introduction to the responsibilities of a teacher, with short tasks providing the opportunity for you to reflect on what you see in a school context.

The final session will provide an opportunity to showcase our PGCE provision, the wide variety of courses offered and the flexibility within these. During the one-to-one tutorial, you'll discuss your reflections and considerations about a career in teaching. Tutors will provide support in preparing for an interview for a PGCE.

How you'll learn

The course will be 12 weeks in duration, with a one-hour session each week. There will be six recorded sessions and six online live sessions, as well as a one-hour tutorial.
