Esports facilities

Our Esports Simulation Suite is designed to support every aspect of competitive and casual gaming. Whether you’re testing event concepts, developing strategies, or hosting games, the suite provides access to industry-standard platforms, high-spec equipment, and 10GB bandwidth for seamless play, streaming, and event simulations.

Dynamic lighting enhances the atmosphere, allowing you to tailor the environment to the game or event. This creates an immersive setting that not only elevates the player experience but also supports the creative and theoretical learning that takes place in our esports courses.

Field trips

As part of your course, you'll get the chance to visit a range of venues and events – locally, across the UK, and even abroad. These trips help bring your learning to life. Plus, our north-east location means you’ll explore everything from coastlines to countryside to cities. Some of the recent field trips our students have taken part in include the Stadium of Light, Edinburgh, and the Utilita Arena.

Placements

Both of our Events Management courses offer the option to take a placement year, giving you the chance to build real-world experience and boost your career prospects. We’ll support you every step of the way – from finding a placement to staying in touch while you're there. It’s also a great way to make industry contacts that could lead to future job opportunities.

North East Hotels Association (NEHA)

We’ve launched the Hospitality Mentor Programme in partnership with the North East Hotels Association (NEHA), connecting our Events Management students with experienced hoteliers from some of the region’s top hotels.

It’s a great opportunity to build your network and learn directly from professionals who’ve built successful careers in the industry. You’ll gain insights into the wide range of career paths available and get a clearer idea of which direction you’d like to take.

Following graduation, I started a temporary position as Events Administrator at Isuzu UK, and within three months, I was made a permanent member of staff and progressed to Events Coordinator. I've since been promoted to my current position as Events and PR Executive.
