Top up your existing qualification to a full honours degree in one year. Gain the knowledge and abilities to embark on a career in a networking environment. Contribute to the efficient operation and management of complex networks and network services.

Study topics including project management, telecommunications, product development, and advanced routing. You'll have full access to outstanding facilities, including specialist computer forensics laboratories. We're also an accredited Cisco Academy and have two laboratories packed with Cisco networking equipment. This includes routers, switches, terminals and specialist equipment for simulating frame relay, and ISDN links.

You'll graduate as a competent network practitioner with a high level of networking and transferable skills. You'll be highly employable and attractive to local, regional, and national companies.

What you'll study

Many of our courses include a range of modules you can choose from. Some of these options may only be available if you’ve already studied specific required modules. If you’re not sure what you need before picking a module, your course leader can help.

Undergraduate module credits should total 120 credits per academic year. If optional modules are available alongside core modules on your course, you should choose an amount that totals 120 credits.

How you'll learn

A typical week will include interactive lectures, tutorials, seminars, and lab-based practicals. You'll also learn through group problem solving sessions, case studies, and guest expert lectures. You'll use the University’s virtual learning environment for group activities, discussions, assignments, and links to resources.

Assessment methods include coursework and exams. As well as assessments that count towards your degree, there are also on-going assessments for feedback and consolidating your learning.

Undergraduate fees are set according to rules from Government in line with forecast inflation. The fee for your first year of study for 2026/27 will be £9,535. You'll pay tuition fees for every year of study. Fees may increase every year based on the Retail Price Index.
