Farooq Hakim

Farooq is part of the Oracle Corporation EMEA key accounts leadership team which is working with key customers in supporting them through their transformation journey.

Farooq has over 20 years involvement in the delivery of complex business transformation programmes with executive roles as Chief Operating Officer, Vice President, Chief Information Officer and Chief Technology Officer.

Always keen to support his local community, Farooq is a non-executive for the North East Local Economic Partnership (LEP) and the University of Sunderland. In 2014 and 2015 Farooq was included in The Journal’s list of “most influential” people in the North East for helping the region develop its digital ambitions.

Farooq has lived in the North East for the past 30 years. He graduated from the University of Sunderland in 1990 with a BA (Hons) in Business Computing and graduated from Oxford University (Pembroke College) in 2014 with an MSc in Major Programme Management.

Farooq was appointed as Chair of the Board in 2022.
