About Dr Amanda Solaiman
I am a Lecturer in Formulation Sciences and a practising pharmacist registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (2006 – present). I graduated with an MPharm degree from the University of Sunderland in 2005 and completed the pre-registration year at the University Hospital of North Tees.
My PhD was obtained in the area of pharmaceutics, investigating the physical, chemical, and mechanical properties of a new type of capsule shell for drug delivery. In addition, I undertook postdoctoral work developing orally dispersible tablet formulations.
I previously worked as an academic tutor at the University (2011–2020), teaching MPharm, BSc (Hons) Biopharmaceutical Science, BSc (Hons) Cosmetic Science, MSc Drug Development and Discovery, and MSc Pharmaceutical and BioPharmceutical Formulations. In 2020, I joined as a full-time lecturer.
