About Dr Eddie Bradley
I'm a Senior Lecturer in Biomechanics with a background in clinical biomechanics of the hip (PhD). Currently, I'm Programme Leader for the BSc (Hons) Sport and Exercise Sciences course and I am a CASES accredited sport and exercise scientist. My interests are in teaching and learning enhancement on sport science, the biomechanical and performance analysis of women's sport, and the occupational demands of emergency services. I have six years experience working as a sports scientist for a professional women's rugby team.

I'm Programme Leader for the BSc (Hons) Sport and Exercise Sciences course.
My main focus is on sport and exercise biomechanics across the undergraduate and postgraduate sport courses and I'm currently module leader for:

- L6 Applied Biomechanics for Training, Performance, and Health

Research
I have an interest in rugby union, focusing on elite women's rugby. My research involves examining the match demands and physical capabilities of the players and how this affects success. Additionally, I am interested in identifying female-specific thresholds and the impact this has on data-driven outcomes and advice provided in sport science support.
I have investigated the health and wellbeing of specialist police officers and the influence of training programs on the physical capabilities of officers. This is linked to understanding the impact of occupational role requirements in emergency responders and how these actions affect the ability to perform work-based tasks and how these tasks may cause injury and ill health. This has expanded into investigating the biomechanics during CPR in paramedics.
I am involved in teaching and learning enhancement in sport and exercise science research through a collaborative research group aligned to the CASES teaching and Learning Enhancement Division. Our research is identifying the current state of play in teaching and learning evidence in the discipline and determining future research priorities. My previous research has included defining how entrustable professional activities and authentic learning can be implemented in sport and exercise sciences, the application of feedforward and marking rubrics, and student perceptions of teaching innovations.
