About Rachel Ineson

I am an Occupational Therapist and Senior Lecturer teaching Occupational Therapy, and have been at the University of Sunderland since 2020.

I am the Programme Leader for BSc (Hons) Occupational Therapy (Accelerated). I have an extensive clinical background specialising in paediatrics, sensory processing differences, people living with PIMD (profound intellectual and multiple disabilities), postural management, and wheelchair services. I have worked in both acute and community occupational therapy settings.

I have previous higher education teaching experience from Sheffield Hallam University. I have also worked with the Ministry of Justice as a Registered Intermediary, facilitating participation for young and vulnerable witnesses with the criminal justice system.

I am a qualified Advanced Sensory Integration Practitioner in Ayres Sensory Integration.
