About Scott Rowan-Ferry
I am a Lecturer in the School of Nursing and Health Sciences and a Health and Care Professions Council registered Biomedical Scientist with over seven years of experience working for the NHS.
Following five years as a Biomedical Scientist, my most recent role was as a Transfusion Practitioner at the Newcastle Upon Tyne Hospital Foundation Trust.
My experience and knowledge lie within blood science, specifically blood transfusion, and in the introduction of simulated training in the university setting.
Teaching and supervision
I teach on the BSc (Hons) Biomedical Science course, and I am Programme Leader for the BSc (Hons) Biomedical Science with Integrated Foundation Year.
Research
My areas of interest and research include preparing students for the fast-paced nature of a biomedical scientist in the NHS and industry.
