Jessica Hardisty

Jessica Hardisty is an experienced academic clinical pharmacist and pharmacy educator, with over 20 years of experience spanning higher education and clinical practice.

Jessica is a Principal Lecturer leading patient-centred curriculum development on MPharm Pharmacy. She has played a central role in multiple curriculum reviews and successful reaccreditations against the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) standards, most recently aligning the course to the 2021 national standards for the initial education and training of pharmacists. She has extensive experience in programme leadership, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance, alongside a strong track record of delivering innovative, work-based learning models across primary and secondary care.

A registered independent prescriber, Jessica maintains active clinical links in primary care and has longstanding experience as a practice pharmacist. Her clinical insight informs her academic leadership, particularly in developing longitudinal placements and experiential learning strategies that prepare students for contemporary healthcare practice.

From 2018 to 2022, Jessica held a senior regional role as Associate Dean for Foundation Pharmacist Training with Health Education England (North). In this role, she supported trainee pharmacists and employers across the North of England, managed a regional team of Training Programme Directors, contributed to national recruitment systems, and led initiatives to enhance pastoral support for trainees with additional needs. This role provided significant experience in strategic workforce planning, stakeholder engagement, governance, and cross-sector collaboration.

Jessica has led large-scale interprofessional education initiatives across university faculties and between higher education institutions, strengthening partnerships and enhancing student learning through collaborative practice models.

Jessica has published in the fields of clinical pharmacy education, interprofessional learning, prescribing safety, and primary care placements. Her recent work focuses on the development, feasibility, and scalability of longitudinal primary care placements for undergraduate pharmacy students.

Jessica joined the Board of Governors in 2026 and is a member of the Academic Assurance Committee.
