Lecturer

I lived and worked overseas for several years before returning to the north-east, where I was born. I taught travel and tourism in several further education colleges until 2008. Since then, I have taught EAP in UK universities and at the University of Sunderland since 2010.

Teaching and supervision

I teach the University pre-sessional and in-sessional courses in English for Academic Purposes (EAP). I have also supervised TESOL students as they completed their final dissertation.

Research interests for potential research students

I am interested in current trends in EAP/ESOL/TESOL and teaching and learning research.
